At
its finest, rider and horse are joined not by tack, but by
trust. Each is totally reliant upon the other. Each is the
selfless guardian of the other's very well-being.

MSEA
Team Challenge |
2008 |
| |
Area IX Adult
Riders has joined once again with the Mountain States Eventing
Association to offer the MSEA Team Challenge. This fun
challenge promotes teamwork and sportsmanship in our sport and
gives the results a little extra 'twist' at the end! Team up with
your barn mates, friends, pony club, or any other riding affiliation
of which you are a part and see which team can accumulate the
best rounds. The top 3 finishing teams will receive ribbons.
Who is
eligible for the Team Challenge? Any competitor, regardless
of whether they are a junior or a senior, may enter the MSEA Team
Challenge. HOWEVER, both the rider and the horse must be registered
with MSEA under their appropriate chapter. Sign up at any MSEA-recognized
event and horse trial in Area IX to be a part of the Team Challenge.
Your team needs to have 3 to 4 riders riding at any level (with
a maximum of ONE professional rider on your team). The 3 lowest
scores averaged together will represent the highest placing team
at the end of the final phase of the event.
How do
I sign up? How much does it cost? A separate entry
form with your team's information needs to be mailed to the
Adult Rider Coordinator. Entries for the team challenge will close
a week before the horse trial begins. The cost is $20 per team,
made payable to Area IX Adult Riders. If any of your team members
are Area IX Adult Rider members you may deduct $5 per registered
rider.

Cindy
Burge Memorial ICP Scholarship |
| |
Cindy Burge
was an honored member of our sport and one that supported the
Instructor's Certification Program (ICP) from its inception. In
her memory, Area IX Adult Riders annually offers a $500 scholarship
to a special trainer wishing to participate in the Instructor's
Certification Program. (Click
here for application.) The application may be submitted by
the trainer, or by a student wishing to nominate their trainer.
Selection
will be made by an unbiased selection committee (all names concealed).
The winner will be given the grant money to attend an ICP workshop
of their choice. In return, they agree to instruct at an Area
IX Adult Rider clinic for three days at the rate of $250/day.
Help us build our future by participating in this program. (You
